- @kapkap - The Death of Music Industry in Indonesia? Ga slh? Bukannya malah lagi sangat2 berkembang banget, walopun ga jelas juntrungannya XD
- kapkap:
- pratama:
- @kapkap music industries need to realize that Live is where the money is. not CD/cassete sales. CD is just a part of promotion tool.
- nanashambles:
- kapkap:
- @pratama - Yep. True true. Currently live concert and merchandise are where the money at.
- kapkap:
- @nanashambles - Iyo. Masalahnya, kalo konsumen udah bosen sama RBT, that's where things going ugly.
- patvandiest:
- industri musik indonesia cenderung terlihat 'latah', lg tren RBT semua kluarin RBT, tren rock2 cengeng, semua band2 baru bgaya rock2 cengeng
- patvandiest:
- @kapkap yes concerts and merchs are lucrative, but most of the major label in here haven't implemented some kind of 360 deal with the band
- aulia:
- @kapkap did you ask @barijoe about RBT? Heh, that fad saved his ass :D
- patvandiest:
- ... they still stuck with RBT, oh puhleasse, RBT hype will fade away sooner or later..
- kapkap:
- @patvandiest - Iyo. Mereka bikinnya "Manajemen Artis". Hmmh. Bargaining position si artis jadi lemah.
- nanashambles:
- @kapkap: Maybe they'll find another new way of promoting their songs.
- patvandiest:
- also I felt sorry for the mainstream music taste, I mean c'mon? bands like Radja, ST12,and (god forbid) Kangen Band? noo, save us from them!
- kapkap:
- kapkap:
- @patvandiest - Setuju. Itu jadi ga jelas gitu. Reflecting the majority of Indonesians eh?
- aulia:
- @kapkap err, that's where iTunes and other online music stores come in. Bypass labels, prints, and distros completely to sell direct.
- kapkap:
- @aulia - Iyo. Di negara lain, music store udah ilang pamor. Di Indo, tinggal ngitung hari deh... :|
- thomasarie:
- @patvandiest and their ads on TV. Oh my goat! May be, they will say, "get our song for your RBT by blah blah blah" in their concerts :P
- patvandiest:
- @aulia but online music selling imo are not so very bright these days, our culture & internet penetration don't help much for it to succeed
- pratama:
- @aulia problem with iTunes model is that CC popularity is still low and the availability of stable net connection is still rare...
- aulia:
- @kapkap music store? oh you mean brick and mortar outlets? as in physical
- kapkap:
- @pratama - Orang masih demen RBT sih ya. SMS "mailing list"? Apa tuh ya?
- kapkap:
- @aulia - Yep, the brick-and-mortar ones.
- pratama:
Masya Allah..
- patvandiest:
- @thomasarie yes, probably one day, after each song they played in a live performance they will tell the RBT code for that song XDD
- nanashambles:
- @kapkap: I don't mind listening to RBT when I call people, but I can't be bothered to put RBT on my number
- pratama:
- personally I prefer buying CD*out of habit* and still download torrent of them... But then again, most of the music I like is not avail here
- kapkap:
- @nanashambles - Same here. I don't want to put RBT on my number.
- aulia:
- @patvandiest @pratama Agree. Culturally Indonesian's aren't attuned to that. lack of internet access? I kind of disagree to a point.
- kapkap:
- @nanashambles - Ah, jadi kepikiran... Could I ask you a question? :D
- kapkap:
One day you found the MP3 at online music store.
- kapkap:
- @nanashambles - Satu lagu 5000 IDR.
- pratama:
- @aulia I say stable connection... not just mere connection... speedy aja gak stable buat download big file of musics...
- patvandiest:
- @kapkap gue waktu itu beli satu album The Milo @ Rp 5000 each song di Digital Beat store (karena di internet gak nemu mp3) :P
- nanashambles:
- @kapkap: beli saat itu juga. Dengan harapan kualitasnya terjamin ya... from my experience, nyari mp3 gratisan itu susah, kecuali torrent
- kapkap:
- @patvandiest - Ah interesting :D Jadi langsung beli daripada lama-lama ngubrek-ngubrek Internet ya? :D *langsung catet*
- nanashambles:
- kapkap:
- @nanashambles - Hmm, oke oke :D Interesting :D *catet lagi*
- aulia:
- @kapkap gue juga mending beli. Taggingnya jelas, ada cover image, and the quality is 128Kbps minimum
- kapkap:
- @aulia - I see.
- pratama:
- talking bout piracy, how bout anime? there's no official way of getting alot of the dubbed/subtitled anime in Indonesia...
- kapkap:
- @pratama - I kinda refer to @nanashambles's tweet before tho. Piracy ada karena unavailability.
- nanashambles:
- @pratama: Yes, that too. I pirated most of my anime n TV series collection... =P
